Quirking a brow at him she cocks her hip to the side and gives him a perplexed look—not quite sure what game he was playing. A chill starts to creep up her spine, that all consuming awareness that something was wrong. “Pete…what are you talking about? You know I help run the Research and Development Division at the Labs.”
At first he’s a bit worried, reading her body language it seems as though he’s said something wrong, but as soon as he mentions her job, he can’t help but smile.
“At a lab? Gwen that’s— That’s fantastic! Which labs?” Research and Developement? It was perfect for Gwen, something he’s always been able to see her doing. There’s no way to describe what he’s feeling but pride. So very proud of her for moving on to something that she’s always wanted to do.
“A while? Yeah, I’d say so. Can’t pick up a phone and call home now and again can you?” she huffs out “Not that I’m much better, the Director had me in South America.”
“Call… Home…?” He mutters the words, brows furrowing in confusion. “I uh…” He runs a hand slowly through his hair and shrugs, letting it go, “Director? Are you in an internship or something?” Might as well catch up after not seeing each other for over a year, huh?
“P-Peter!”
“…Gwen. Uh. Hi. Wow. It’s uh… It’s been a while, huh?”
